Get your iPhone battery below 25% before you start. A charged lithium-ion battery can ignite and/or explode if accidentally punctured.
Before you start replacing the screen, turn off your iPhone.
Remove the two 6.9mm long pentalobe screws from the bottom edge of the iPhone.
If the screws are stripped or damaged, you should replace the screws.
Opening the iPhone's screen will compromise its waterproof seals. Prepare replacement gaskets before proceeding with this step, or if you reassemble your iPhone without replacing the gaskets, be careful not to expose it to liquid.
If your iPhone has a cracked screen, tape it to the glass to prevent further breakage and personal injury during your repair.
Place overlapping strips of packing tape over the iPhone's screen until the entire face is covered.
This will keep the glass pieces inside and provide structural integrity when lifting and lifting the screen.

Pull up on the suction cup with firm and steady pressure to create a slight gap between the front panel and the rear case.
Insert a release latch into the cavity.
The waterproof adhesive that holds the screen in place is very strong; creating this initial gap requires a significant amount of force. If you have trouble opening a gap, apply more heat and gently shake the screen up and down to weaken the adhesive until you create enough gap to insert your tool.
